Prop 8 and moving ahead
John Corvino has written another (IMO) brilliant column on how to move forward after the defeat of prop. 8. As many of you know one of the center pieces behind the "yes on 8" ads was a law professor from pepperdine university (although they threatened legal action of the yes on 8 folks didn't remove their school's name from the ads). Update Part 2: Prop 8
Today, I heard a student who, heretofore, staunchly opposed Prop. 8, express her doubts on her position. She had heard the lie enough times that religious institutions could be fined if they refused to perform same-sex marriages. While I took the time to set her straight, it is views like this that give me pause ( Read more... ) -

America Haters
According to the LA Times, the massive "Yes on 8" lawn sign campaign failed to happen because..... they outsourced all the production to China. Meanwhile the "No on 8" signs are our and about .. why? Because they are made in the US by union workers ( Read more... )
